No Kings IV - Be a Voter

The sun finally came out, and the wind subsided by the time the Indivisible No Kings: Long Live the Vote wagon rolled to its last stop at the Levittown Government Services Building on Saturday, October 17th.

People wore costumes (shout out to the three ladies who made their own Ballot Box outfits), and Lady Liberty appeared. But most were neighborhood folks (Levittown and Fairless Hills), along with people from New Hope, Langhorne, Newtown, and Morrisville. The difference with this event from earlier No Kings rallies is that it WASN'T a protest. It was a celebration. Its goal was to encourage something important in a fun, inviting way: VOTING.

Something else was going on at the event: community. They waved as passing cars honked. The ballot boxes danced, and for one afternoon this fall, we got a chance to celebrate what is truly great about our country: the right to assemble, the right to free speech, and most importantly of all, the right to VOTE.

So, despite Instagram shutting down the No Kings account for most of the event and occasional negative taunts from the usual suspects, we came together as a community to celebrate and encourage each other to participate in our democracy.

Do something important for you and your country. Be a Voter!
